What’s up my Kate's Take listeners! I’m pumped to be here with you today! Today is day 40 of 100.

Every 10 days we’re going to be taking a step back to reflect with a recap

First, let’s call on our 5 questions.

These questions are the bookends to your day - answer 1 and 2 in the morning, and 3 - 5 at night. 

  1. What’s one thing I’m grateful for?
  2. What’s one thing I’ll accomplish today that will bring me one step closer to my goal? 
  3. What’s something that’s working well for me right now? 
  4. What’s something that’s not working well for me right now?
  5. How can I either solve what’s not working right now, or get rid of it?

Our 10-day recap allows us to gauge our pace and make adjustments if necessary.

When you chose your goal to focus on and we set a 100 day timeframe, we gave ourselves a goal date. So in relation to where you want to be on day 100, and where you are right now in terms of your progress, how do you feel?

In order to gauge our pace we’re going to do the following: 

  1. Write down 3 goals you accomplished over the past 10 days
  2. What’s 1 surprise accomplishment from the past 10 days?
  3. Write down your top 3 goals for the next 10 days.
  4. Write down a habit you’ll implement over the next 10 days.

What’s up my Kate's Take listeners! I’m ecstatic to be here with you today! Today is day 39 of 100.

Chances are you’ve struggled with self-sabotage - maybe subconsciously, maybe consciously… If this sounds familiar, then you’re in the right place!

First, let’s call on our 5 questions.

These questions are the bookends to your day - answer 1 and 2 in the morning, and 3 - 5 at night. 

  1. What’s one thing I’m grateful for?
  2. What’s one thing I’ll accomplish today that will bring me one step closer to my goal? 
  3. What’s something that’s working well for me right now? 
  4. What’s something that’s not working well for me right now?
  5. How can I either solve what’s not working right now, or get rid of it?

We’ve all done one or more of these things before - whether it was subconsciously, or consciously. 

These things might seem like minor inconveniences, or silly things we tell ourselves from time to time… but they’re SO MUCH MORE than that.

These things are keeping you from accomplishing your BIG goals.

And when you learn about the ways in which you might be self-sabotaging, you can look out for the signs and stop them from taking over.

5 Things that aren't serving you

  1. Not being clear about what it looks like to accomplish your goal
  2. Constantly feeling overwhelmed and stressed
  3. Not being realistic with your time
  4. Coming down too hard on yourself / not asking for help
  5. Infinite distractions

Now that you know the 5 things that could be standing between you and accomplishing your biggest goal, how can you overcome one (or more) of these things?

Remember, with awareness comes great power. And that power is the power to ditch what doesn’t serve you.

Perhaps one or more of the 5 things I shared today is standing in your way, and now that you’re aware of it, you can make a change.

If you’re ready to 80/20 your work, then you’re in the right place.

  1. What’s one thing I’m grateful for?
  2. What’s one thing I’ll accomplish today that will bring me one step closer to my goal? 
  3. What’s something that’s working well for me right now? 
  4. What’s something that’s not working well for me right now?
  5. How can I either solve what’s not working right now, or get rid of it?

What would it look like if 20% of your efforts produced 80% of your results?

James Clear laid it out perfectly in one of his newsletters… He wrote:

How to 80/20 your work

  • Make a list of the 10 things you spend the most time on.
  • Circle the two that truly drive your results. Do more of those.
  • Look at the others. Eliminate ruthlessly. Automate or outsource what you can. Press pause on the rest.
  • Repeat.

Pretty simple, right?

I can guarantee you that if you take the time to sit down and do this exercise, the weeks and months to come will be some of your most productive ever.

And when you gain that momentum - when you feel that feeling of freedom… that you’re working on things you love and they’re truly making an impact - don’t stop.

Call on your discipline and your focus and leverage that momentum to take you, your business, and your impact to the next level.

Nothing has to be complicated from the start. All too often we waste time spinning our wheels over-complicating things that - at their core - are really quite simple. 

So what would happen if next time you’re faced with a challenge, or a task, or a project… you ask yourself “What would this look like if it were easy?”

Once you take your first step, you’ll not only have powerful momentum working in your favor, you’ll also have a clearer vision of what the next best step should be.

I’m ecstatic to be here with you today! Today is day 34 of 100.

Take a step back and have a REAL convo with yourself around what you’re capable of on any given day - and just as important, what you WANT to be spending your time doing.

Not all new opportunities are ones you should be investing your time in; trying to make things perfect is NOT what is going to help you win; and focusing on what you can’t accomplish today doesn’t help you - or anyone around you. 

So next time you’re faced with any of these things, ask yourself, “What’s realistic given my capabilities, my current commitments, and the time I have available?”

Something I’ve learned over the years while trying to gain back control of my time is this: I can do it all, but I can’t do it all right now. 

And without self control, the only result possible is feeling under accomplished and over stressed.

So next time you get that all-too-familiar-feeling of “I have so much to do and I don’t know where to start!”

STOP.

Brain dump, prioritize, and remember: you can do it all, but you can’t do it all right now.
